Lodging and meals provided.  Agency must provide ammunition.

This course is designed to develop instructors in the use of Law Enforcement Handguns equipped with Red Dot Sights (RDS). It will include classroom and range drills, on the following topics; Weapon selection, Sight options/selection, modification and mounting considerations, maintenance, holster considerations, firearms safety, marksmanship fundamentals, handgun handling techniques, developing a RDS training program, legal considerations. A variety of range drills enhancing RDS usage from 0 to 50 yards, including; presentation from the holster and ready positions, close quarter engagements, sight failures, movement shooting, cover/concealment, unconventional positions, incapacitation, grounded officers and reduced light. Students will also complete a qualification course using their RDS pistols.

Range - outdoor and indoor
Any centerfire, LE type Handgun with a mounted Red Dot Sights and equipped with back-up iron sights.  Examples- Pistols; Glock, SIG, H&K, S&W
Examples- Red Dot Sights: Trijicon RMR, Leupold Delta Point Pro, Aimpoint Arco, Holosun 507
Normal duty belt, holster, mag pouch and support gear
Three magazines, minimum
400 rounds of practice ammunition (student's agency must supply)
6 rounds of dummy ammunition (I will supply if needed)
Handheld Duty Flashlight mandatory, weapon mounted light optional
Cleaning gear
